How to Play Rock Paper Scissors - Complete Rules & Modes Guide

New to Gababo? This guide covers everything from the basic rules of Rock Paper Scissors to how to start a real-time match with friends. No signup required — just share a link and play.

Basic Rules

Rock Paper Scissors (also known as Roshambo or RPS) is a hand game with three options: • Rock ✊ beats Scissors (rock crushes scissors) • Paper ✋ beats Rock (paper covers rock) • Scissors ✌️ beats Paper (scissors cut paper) If both players choose the same shape, it is a draw.

Single Match Mode

A quick, one-round mode where the winner is decided in a single throw. Draws lead to a rematch. Best for quickly settling a friendly debate or a coin-flip-style decision.

Best-of-Three Mode

In best-of-three mode, the first player to reach 2 wins is the overall winner. Despite the "three" in the name, the format is "first to two" — meaning a match can end in 2 rounds (2-0) or 3 rounds (2-1). Drawn rounds do not count toward the score and proceed to the next round. Example: round 1 win, round 2 loss, round 3 win → 2 wins reached, match ends.
